Free talk in Doumen

Our free talk time this afternoon was based around an article, “The Long Road to Forgiveness,” by Kim Phuc. One of the more memorable (and horrific) pictures from the Vietnam war was of a young child running down the road screaming after her clothes had been burned off in a napalm attack on her village. You can read the essay at http://thisibelieve.org/essay/44965/). Kim later became a believer and give a very solid testimony about her journey.

Anyway, it was a VERY animated conversation that was still going strong after the time was up. Several people stayed around to talk afterward.

We had low expectations for the free talks this week, because none of the teachers are on campus. But we invited people who were in the training last week and several from previous years. Some of them are bringing other friends. A couple of high school students and several university students are also attending. We’ve probably had 20 or so people attend the last couple of day. Very exciting.

Tomorrow, we talk about the article, “To Preserve a Benevolent Attitude,” which you can read at
http://thisibelieve.org/essay/16995/ . You might want to read the article and think about how different sections might touch people.

Thanks for your thoughts.
Jeff
