Doumen teacher training and Yung Wing English Camp are off to a good start.

The first day of teacher training on Thursday at Doumen went really well. We saw lots of our summer program alumni from 2007, 2008, and 2009. Because there were many folks who already knew us and our style, it was easy to get the teachers engaged right from the start.

The Yung Wing camp trip to an amusement park - Pearlland - on Wednesday was really fun. Having a dozen screaming seven-year-olds hanging on me as we walked through the haunted house was pretty fun - pretty hot too!

We had dinner last evening with the Doumen deputy magistrate with responsibility for foreign industry and education. He spoke at our opening ceremony yesterday morning, and then he invited us to supper at the government office last evening. He studied at a community college in San Diego for a year back in 1999. His English was very good - an interesting evening!

I am not set up to send pictures where I'm at right now, but I promise to send some over the weekend.

Please think about the many friends we have here in Doumen and Zhuhai. We want to use our time well to communicate with them outside in our free time!
