Jeff arrives in Hong Kong

The first “wave” of our team arrived in Hong Kong on Friday evening. I came over early to visit some businesses in China. I’ll come back to Hong Kong just in time to meet up with the first wave of the Doumen team.

It is funny coming to Hong Kong because it feels so “homey.” Nathan Road, the main “drag” in this part of the city is somewhat like Michigan Avenue in Chicago – but get a block or two off Nathan and it is very “local.” I took the time to walk through the Temple Street Night Market and had some noodles at a street restaurant. In this picture, the location looks dark and pretty seedy – but it wasn’t really all that dark. As people walked through the market, the restaurant vendors call out to people, “Come on over and have something to eat; our food is delicious.” Of course, for the foreign tourists walking through, this marketing pitch was lost because it was in Cantonese.

I’m looking forward to my business visits over the next week, but looking forward to the team coming in a few days.
